GAIKA

Born out of his travels through the many global currents of contemporary London, GAIKA's music is dark yet melodic, experimental yet catchy. While drawing strongly from his Brixton upbringing and his Jamaican and Grenadian heritage, GAIKA's sound is ultimately expansive, seamlessly weaving musical motifs, vocal flows and slangs of UK, US and Caribbean music.

As both a vocalist and producer, GAIKA is as uncompromising in his politics as his sonics, intent on expanding and exploding the ideas of what contemporary black british music is. From his debut mixtape Machine in 2015 all the way to his Warp Records release Spaghetto, GAIKA is channeling the unique synthesis of the UK's musical make-up, firmly at the forefront of a new London.

"Hear about London right now, and it probably sounds a bit bleak; the mass closure of much-loved venues, house prices that only the rich can afford, rising racial tensions and increasingly no help for the down-trodden. However, scratch away its surface, and the deep, dark, anonymous city remains brimming with fearless art, just as it always has done - a testament to what can bleed from a gaping wound.

Kojey Radical

London based poet, musician and mixed media visual artist Kojey Radical's Debut Australian Tour. As an artist Kojey is widely credited for his explosive live shows and subversive storytelling ability, often referred to as a visionary and pioneer of the arts.

Kojey's live show has seen him supporting Young Fathers on their European tour, and Ghostface Killah at the Southbank, as well as boasting his own sold out Jazz Caf show in September. He took part in his second Boiler Room show in October in the shape of exclusively curated spoken word event; 'In Appreciation of Lyricism' alongside the actor and poet Saul Williams.

Cassius Select

Cassius Select lives in the undefined sonic boroughs of the hardcore continuum. His first EP explored the grittier end of techno under Australian label Hunter Gatherer followed by a 12" of unstable rhythm workouts under DJ Haus' UTTU label. The Toronto native is hell bent on inciting movement in the most unorthodox ways. Sonics crush genre-defining sounds into a pastiche of cryptic one liners and side eyes. Drums that invoke an impossible sense of swing and momentum. Most importantly Select's sound defines itself on the mission to decontruct the world around him,to level out the playing field so everyone can have a bite. This year, Select joins with UK imprint Accidental Jr. to release a two-track fury of sound that snarls with every grimace.

She is in constant visual collaboration with her sister, Danielle Karlikoff, and producers such as Sydney's ATRO and V Kim. Together she presents a hybrid of bedroom and club that has deemed her "one of the most culturally relevant musical artists in Sydney right now (Acclaim)."

Body Promise

Body Promise started out as a weekly radio show on FBi Click delivering fine pearls from all corners of the globe. In the club, Body Promise are known for explosive sets spanning hard hitting techno to breakbeat rollers to percussive club experiments. In October 2016 they established themselves as a label and released their debut compilation "Harmony From A Dominant Hue". The compilation showcases the original work of fifteen producers from Australia and abroad, each of whom occupy their own special place on the club music spectrum.
