Bakoomba is a nine piece consisting of a driving rhythm section, slick horns, sassy female vocals and percussion all lead by the colourful and dynamic Mr Fode Mane from Senegal.

Hot afrobeats, skankin' reggae, old school funk, cool Afro-jazz and raw percussion… Join us for intoxicating, dance-inducing and utterly infectious grooves.

Bakoomba take you on a musical journey with an effortless blend of genres, adventurous styles, tight and dynamic arrangements and incredible solos that build into a powerful wall of solid Afro-funk fusion.

Bakoomba has supported international artists such as Maxi Priest (UK), Katchafire (NZ), JBoog (LA) and performed at a number of leading festivals, events and venues. Fode left Senegal starring in a performance group that toured the globe before calling Australia home. The rest of the line-up are established musicians who have been performing for years at major Australian music festivals such as Bluesfest Byron Bay and Peats Ridge Festival, and have shared the stage with artists such as The Wailers and Michael Franti.
