Event Details

Australia’s premier international film festival is back for 12 days and nights in June with the world’s best new films. Sydney Film Festival has partnered with Vivid Ideas to present a diverse range of talks with guest filmmakers and industry experts.

One of the most hotly anticipated and popular films in Sydney Film Festival's program this year is TERROR NULLIUS a highly political, brilliant cinema mash up. This film is a hilarious, uncomfortable reimagining of Australia’s national mythology. Taking existing films as its raw material, TERROR NULLIUS splices together footage from the likes of Mad Max: Fury Road and The Babadook with video and audio of public figures like Pauline Hanson, to create a dazzling queering and othering of Australian cinema.

Meet the fascinating Australian two-person art collective behind the film, Soda_Jerk, for an in-depth discussion after the screening.
