A new era is of exploration is upon us; a new frontier. We’re tackling the big questions, what will space exploration look like in 20 years’ time? Are we going back to the Moon? Will we colonise Mars? What skills do we need to get us there? And how does space exploration benefit us here on Earth?
It’s been 50 years since Australia helped NASA send images of humankind’s first steps on the moon to more than 600 million people around the world. Communicating with the Apollo 11 spacecraft and sharing news of this ‘giant leap’ was made possible by the technology and teams at NASA’s Honeysuckle Creek tracking station near Canberra and CSIRO’s Parkes radio telescope. It was a historic moment.
While celebrating the past, it’s also time to explore our future. Come along and hear from our visionaries about where the new age of space exploration will take us next.
