The cost of running a car on fuel is $1.50 per litre compared to 0.33c per litre for an electric car.

While Australia still trails behind global leaders in electric vehicle uptake, we have seen a number of small but important shifts across a range of electric vehicle indicators. The NSW Government’s Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Plan aims to provide the network and charging infrastructure to increase uptake. This will include investment in fast charging points for major regional corridors and new charging points in commuter car parks. 

At Willoughby City Council we have a commitment to double the number of electric vehicle charge points in the LGA from a 2015 baseline.

Evan Darmanin is an Alternative Energy Specialist from Chargeworks and provides consulting advice to Council on electric vehicles and battery storage.
