Indira will provide an inspirational collection of stories of ‘green guerrillas’ all over the country on a mission to convert wasted urban land into productive spaces to grow food. She has even written 2 books about it – The Edible City and The Edible Balcony.

This presentation will follow her amazing journey to some of Australia’s and the world’s most innovative and memorable urban green spaces and the wonderful communities tending them. The communities span the award-winning Wayside Chapel Rooftop Garden with beehives in Potts Point Sydney, to the rooftop worm farm above Melbourne restaurant Mesa Verde and the rooftop farm in New York City. 

Indira will also talk about how to build your own small space or community garden including choosing a location, seeking permission to use it and how, when and what to plant. She’ll also share vital ‘how- to’ information on seed saving and composting, and her dozens of delicious recipes.
