Vivid Ideas at Chatswood Chase: Jon Kingston, The Wayside Chapel

Studies are now showing us that engaging with nature has a positive effect on our wellbeing The Japanese have a term for this - Shinrin Yoku, which roughly translates as Forest Bathing to reduce stress and improve mood. Getting back to nature gives us the time to think and improves mental health.

Jon Kingston is the head gardener at The Wayside Chapel, where he has created a kitchen garden for the residents.  Join Jon as he talks about the benefits of creating spaces to engage with nature and taking the time to reconnect with the world around us.

Jon will describe how he uses gardening at the Wayside Chappell as a way of engaging people and opening paths for creativity. He will also provide tips on how you can become present in the landscape and share his gardening tips on how to connect with nature at home by creating wild and play spaces.
