Event Details

It’s been over three years since the United Nations launched the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. We are making progress, but time is not on our side. We have to move as fast as we can. But how do we move the understanding of the Global Goals from the already engaged to the greater population of Australia?

The way forward is outlined in 169 detailed targets that give advice and direction for how to fulfil the 2030 Agenda. However, this is communicated in a language that is difficult for most to understand.

Banksia Ignite aims to promote understanding for the SDGs around the social and environmental issues that are being addressed and solved, in an easy-to-understand positive manner for anyone that is frustrated with the current status quo and wants to create a better life.

We want to show how you as a citizen shape the SDGs and how you as a citizen need to help achieve them. This means that we need to work with government and development institutions to raise public awareness and mobilise people into action – what better way then by presenting interesting and inspiring stories that can do this!
