Art & Technology in the Classroom (STEAM not STEM)

Event Details

Artists are great innovators and experimenters, often driving emerging technologies to their limits and invoking new possibilities. Yet rarely are the sciences or mathematics taught through the lens of art. Beginning with an artist-led gallery exploration, experience the creative possibilities of contemporary art and test out learning strategies designed to challenge and extend students' creative capacities. Then move into the Creative Studios of the National Centre for Creative Learning for a practical workshop focused on experimental processes that engage creativity as a driver for experiential learning. By situating creativity as a natural part of learning, students can be inspired to new ways of thinking about art, science and the world we live in, building creative capacity vital for tackling the big challenges of the 21st century. A BOSTES registered creative learning workshop for K-10 teachers. Presented by Museum of Contemporary Art, Australia
