An exceptional collaboration from perhaps three of the defining creative minds of New York’s current music scene, this year’s Vivid Live will see Bryce Dessner, Nico Muhly & Sufjan Stevens performing together for a rare series of concerts – a three way commission between Sydney Opera House, Muziekgebouw, Eindhoven and the Barbican, London. Each artist has established themselves as a forerunner in their respective field: Sufjan Stevens’ The Age of Adz tour confirmed his status as an ambitious live force, Bryce Dessner has consistently delivered stellar performances as guitarist in indie rock band The National, and Nico Muhly has developed into an international star of contemporary composition with his score for The Reader and the opera Two Boys – set for The Metropolitan Opera’s 2013/2014 season.
