Event Details

Take flight as you follow these feathered neon friends across the Vivid Sydney Light Walk. Guiding visitors since 2022, Future Natives is a series of stylised light sculptures. Inspired by Australian native birds, these sculptures act as way finders as you travel from Circular Quay to The Goods Line.

Each one of these unique birds mirrors the colours of our most unique and vibrant species, from the Rainbow Lorikeet to the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo. Try to spot all 13.

A geometric interpretation of a bird mid-flight, these stylised sculptures are also inspired by mid-century futurism. A moment in time where artists imagined what the bold, tech-driven future would look like, these birds remind us of our shared imagination, the magic of flight and our connection to nature.
