LUCY CLICHE (Syd / Melb)

"A self described 'techno purist's nightmare' and a meredith alumni, lucy has been melting butts all over Melbourne with her driving and hypnotic analog danceflooor perfection and is seriously not to be missed”.

Lucy Phelan has been a critical force in the Sydney & Melbourne DIY scene for over 10 years. Under her solo veil, Lucy Cliché is an ever evolving project exploring intersections between techno, industrial and electro. Using an all hardware set-up her music delivers a hard bitten exploration of how physicality and the ethereal can interact in music – heavy bass rhythms lock into pounding drums, washed over with synth chords and acid bleeps. She recently released a new EP Drain Down on the vinyl imprint Noise In My Head Records.

MILES BROWN (Melb / Album launch)

"Miles’ solo work explores the theremin and synthesiser in the realm of darkwave, gothic disco and cosmic analogue electronics”.

Miles Brown is a leading Australian electronic artist and theremin player who also composes for the instrument. Best known as the leader of Melbourne dark synth band The Night Terrors, he has also performed with renowned artists such as Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Goblin, Black Mountain and Heirs.

Miles launches his debut solo album Séance Fiction at The Velvet Cave Rave.

Co-released between UK cult horror soundtrack label Death Waltz Recording Company, US film culture monolith Mondo and Melbourne underground imprint It records, Séance Fiction is Brown’s gothic techno party record, charting a hectic course through horror disco, darkwave, synth pop, chiptune and theremin-led synthwave extravagance.

ORION (Syd)

“Since forming in late 2013, Sydney-based quartet Orion has grown to mean a lot to people. The group makes accessible, powerful and sometimes danceable pop songs”.

Out of Sydney, and made up of members from Oily Out of Sydney, and made up of members from Oily Boys and Whores, Orion are a good step ahead of the old pub band, but are sticking with the energetic and unassuming nature.

Distant beats and guitar heavy melody, mashed into garage-pop is their vibe; if you add a little bit of 80’s fervour and a touch of melodramatic electric know-how.

BUZZ KULL (Syd)

“Listening to Buzz Kull is like lighting a flame at the pit of your belly, allowing all that stomach acid to start churning around the base of your body, brewing and burning until your whole being is thrashing around”.

Buzz Kull is a cinematic blaze of darkwave, goth, minimal synth & post punk. Here to make you sweat with the unique flavours of raw electronic and industrial rave. Currently in the midst of completing the first Lp release "chroma" produced by Jonathan Schenke (parquet courts, Frankie Rose, pc worship, dirty beaches, eaters). The album is to be released in early 2016.
