Event Details

From Book to Boards: Adapting for the Stage offers a unique opportunity for participants to learn from industry professionals about the process of adapting a literary text for the stage.

Charting the path of translation and adaptation from novel to stage, the seminar will explore the incorporation of stagecraft, along with the workshop and development processes culminating in rehearsals and performance. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the hosts in a Q&A session. To better inform their experience, participants may choose to attend a performance of The Big Dry at Ensemble Theatre immediately prior to the seminar.

Audiences will leave the event enlightened about adaptation and buzzing with inspiration and practical tools to tackle the process themselves.

This event is presented by Ensemble Theatre in conjunction with ATYP and can be combined with a performance of the play directly prior to the seminar, at Ensemble Theatre.

Hosted by Artistic Director Mark Kilmurry, director Fraser Corfield and writer Tony Davis, the seminar offers a unique opportunity for participants to engage with industry professionals about the process of adapting a literary text for the stage.
