Sandy Burgoyne, founding director of the Future Cities Collaborative, an initiative of the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney, is a researcher, speaker and educator in the field of smart and sustainable communities. Sandy worked for 25 years developing and leading business strategies and transformation within the telecommunications, information technology and not-for-profit sectors and now works to build the capacity of industry, government and community to develop smart and sustainable cities.
Sandy holds a Master of Sustainable Development from Macquarie University and Bachelor or Arts (Geography) and Diploma of Education from Flinders University of South Australia. Sandy is the Principal at Citizen Cities, advisory Board Member at Cities Leadership Institute and holds several board director positions in health and education.
