It is a privilege to have Rodney Dillon, a widely celebrated lifelong advocate for Indigenous people's rights, speaking at 'The Story of You'. He is a Palawa man with an impressive professional history as former commissioner for the Tasmanian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission and as the current Indigenous Rights advisor at Amnesty International Australia. He has been integral to various successes regarding repatriation of Indigenous people’s remains, the rights of people to live on their traditional homelands and fishing and hunting rights.
These efforts have earned him deserved recognition from a multitude of institutions, including nominations for Australian of the Year in 2011 and NAIDOC male person of the year in 2006, and he was awarded the Human Rights Individual Award in 2013.
