Patrick Duigan, Executive Coordinator City Place Making at the City of Gold Coast leads a strong team focussed on regenerating small business centres across the Gold Coast, using place making strategies, architectural design and urban design principles. He is passionate about the successful transformation of these centres into desirable business destinations, taking economics, customer experience, history, social context and branding into consideration in determining the physical changes to be implemented in each centre.
Projects include master planning of key business centres, tactical urbanism makeovers of small centres, and streetscaping of medium centres through to major reconstruction of city streets. A Bachelor of Architecture degree, Diploma in Project Management and experience gained in Australia and overseas has helped Patrick to manage and develop the unit into a winning team, with Urban Design awards and recently, awards from the Australian institute of Landscape Architects and Place Leaders Asia Pacific for the Chinatown Gold Coast project. Patrick is currently working with the CEO of Place Leaders Asia Pacific to start a chapter on the Gold Coast.
