Morris Bellamy moved from Melbourne to Sydney, in mid-2014, to pursue the newly established role of Place Manager for Green Square. This broad-based role focusses on placemaking outcomes for the $13 billion redevelopment in Sydney’s inner south.
The question of ‘what makes a city tick?’ has been an enduring interest throughout Morris’ career. This includes over 20 years with the City Melbourne during a period of major change and revitalisation. His experience includes arts and event management, community development and numerous neighbourhood renewal projects involving the delivery of capital works and innovative service models. His immediate prior role focussed on advocacy and strategic marketing in the rapidly changing municipality of Maribyrnong in Melbourne’s inner west. Along the way, Morris spent several years consulting on creative placemaking initiatives in New Jersey.
The transformation of Sydney’s Green Square into a culturally vibrant, innovatively designed and connected urban neighbourhood is happening now.
