Bull began playing music in the mid-2000s in Sydney’s live club scene, initially coming to wider attention in 2010 with the Phantom Pains EP; a lively, piano-driven outing lead to the listening public by the song “Dog” (featuring Lisa Mitchell). After extensive national touring, Andy constructed a home studio in 2013, where he began writing and producing a new body of work.
Lead by the singles 'Keep On Running', 'Baby, I'm Nobody Now', and 'Talk Too Much', the album Sea Of Approval was released in 2014. An adventurous, richly detailed body of work, Sea Of Approval animates Bull’s contemplative and oftentimes self- effacing lyrical concerns with a striking melodic instinct and highly unique sonic palette.
Critically and popularly received, the Album was nominated for three ARIA Awards and polled three times in the Triple J Hottest 100; and Bull’s powerful live show had him acclaimed as one of the surprise hits of the 2015 Laneway Festival. With his bold, singular artistic perspective, incomparable singing voice and live performances, Bull is one of Australia’s most gifted and inspiring performers.
