Operational Information for Residents and Businesses

This page is designed to provide daily operational information to residents and businesses about the bump-in and bump-out activities of Vivid Sydney.

Current works are as follows:

Definitions / Legend

Cleaning & Waste-Day - means normal daytime cleaning and waste, event specific overlay of additional cleaning and waste that may involve noise or plant and equipment

Cleaning & Waste-Night  - means normal overnight cleaning and waste works, the pumping of temporary event toilets (limited noise) in the vicinity

General Construction - means the building of light installations, projector towers and other temporary event installations in isolated work zones using power tools, plant and equipment and likely involving noise.

Isolated Traffic Controls - are short term controls in isolated areas related directly to installation or removal works for projector towers, light installations or other event infrastructure.

Illumination Tests - a rehearsal or demonstration of projection sequence or light installation (including interactivity) for technical and creative staff only.  This does not involve audio.

Infrastructure Delivery - means the removal or installation of road closures, hostile vehicle mitigation or public safety infrastructure such as temporary fencing.

Plant and Equipment - means the use of forklifts, elevated work platforms, other P8E etc., that can cause noise, interrupt pedestrian pathways temporarily,

Quiet Works - means computer programming of lighting or projection instruments (lights may be on) or other works that do not involve power tools, plant and equipment, audio systems.

Technical Rehearsal - a rehearsal or demonstration of a projection sequence or light installation (including interactivity) for technical and creative staff only.  This may or may not involve audio at performance levels.

Test Event - a rehearsal or demonstration of a projection sequence or light installation (including interactivity) with our without a group of attendees for quality control and efficacy testing, or for media and stakeholders or the creative and production team.  This involves audio at performance levels.

Work Zones - means isolated areas of working space that are cordoned for authorise workers only, and will likely reduce or impact on the normal available pedestrian space.  Work zones will be kept as small as possible to allow for safe work.

 

Vivid Sydney Bump-out takes place in all precincts between 17 June and 22 June.
