Vivid Sydney: What’s On Around Wynyard?

Wynyard is a great stepping off point for enjoying Vivid Sydney in all its glory.

Head to Barangaroo and start your Light Walk adventure with Nura. Weave through 150 colour-changing light pillars inspired by traditional tree carvings – dendroglyphs – in this expansive installation by First Nations artist Warwick Keen with Mandylights. While there, enjoy more of Vivid Light with The Gallery, Corpi Celesti, and ChronoHarp. Look across Darling Harbour to the Australian National Maritime Museum where the projection Across the Seas splashes on the wave-form roof.

Around at Walsh Bay, experience the unbridled joy of effervescence at Ephemeral Oceanic. This playful ‘art-chitecture’ of 150 superscale iridescent bubbles sparks childlike wonder and an appreciation of the fragility of our environment. While there, look out for the glowing Light Sentinels and intergalactic Celestial.

On Sat 11 June, rejoice with Marcia Hines AM as she fills St Stephen’s Uniting Church with her soulful stories and incomparable voice in the World Premiere of The Gospel According to Marcia alongside a live band and 12 voice choir.

Analogue Discogue Listening Bar is another Saturday evening option each week during the festival. Pop across to York Lane to hear Norm De Plume (Delusions of Grandeur, UK) with special guests including Edseven, Mehdi El-Aquil, Walter Majik and Matt Boulton who’ll deliver dance-inducing tunes amplified through a vintage sound system. Expect slow listening vibes with impeccable clarity and warmth.

See you in the mix! Remember to share all your #vividsydney reflections and connections on our socials.
