On Friday 27 May, First Light - our Welcome to Country and performance which will be seen on screens throughout the Light Walk, is the perfect start to your Vivid Sydney journey.. You’ll also see Sharing the Same Life Essence projected onto the Sydney Harbour Bridge Pylon before 6pm Lights On! when Yarrkalpa – Hunting Ground morphs across the sails of Sydney Opera House and the city glows bright and the pylons of Sydney Harbour Bridge celebrate its 90th birthday. Explore the Light Walk around Circular Quay, The Rocks, Walsh Bay, Barangaroo and Darling Harbour then venture to Darling Quarter where you’ll discover Vivid House – a wonderland of 3D walk-through visual and sonic experiences created in collaborations between artists and musicians.

Make the Tumbalong Nights stage at Darling Harbour your destination for a potent double dose of FREE live music. Friday night sees beloved Wiradjuri/Filipino RnB and soul mainstay Mo’Ju joined by rising Kenyan born, SA based hip hop star Elsy Wameyo. Or, if you’ve bought tickets, head to Sydney Opera House where Zambian born hip hop, neo-soul, jazz and afrobeat shapeshifting superstar Sampa The Great presents An Afro Future. Follow it up with Friday’s crypto-art-party Future Art is Vivid at Home The Venue that combines NFTS, live music and performances or the Future Classic Studio Party that pumps ‘til the wee hours.

When you’re looking for Saturday arvo inspo, catch Kee’ahn before Mama Kin Spender takes the Tumbalong Nights stage with a 24 strong choir of Inner West Voices. Later, give your kicks a workout at Picnic’s Studio Party

If you fancy a cheeky nightcap, the all new Vivid Sydney Supper Club serves up top talent cabaret style at Mary’s Underground. Friday night, catch headliner Prinnie Stevens in soul-funk mode and Saturday The Whitlam’s Tim Freedman croons his world-wise tunes alongside a host of special guest stars.

Take Sunday morning s-l-o-w-l-y then add some mind-fuel with Vivid Ideas Global Storytellers. New York Times best-selling author and #MeToo trailblazer Gretchen Carlson explores what it takes to upend power imbalances in the workplace. Iconoclastic superstar Troye Sivan shares his take on Beauty, Art and Fluidity.

When you emerge, amble through Vivid Sydney’s array of light installations and 3D mapped projections. Spice things up with a bite and cocktails at the Woodcut Hickory Bar at Crown Sydney or the Opera Bar before seeing red hot rapper Tkay Maidza or legendary singer-songwriter Paul Kelly and his Band with Thelma Plum at Sydney Opera House.

If all that was just your warm up, see you at Astral People’s Studio Party afterwards!
