Created by Barcelona-based artist Anaisa Franco, Affective Entanglements is a collection of parametric light sensitive sculptures that exchange light behaviours with passers-by.
On approach, four sensors in the extremities of each amorphous form activate colourful light patterns that circulate throughout the sculptural tubes, making them seem alive. There is a sensation of vibrant energy pulsing all around these bodies, connecting onlookers to the beat of life and love.
The artwork plays up affection, colour behaviours and rhythms between people walking around the intertwined shapes. Simultaneously your presence affects the work and leaves a trace on the constantly morphing sculptures.
Anaisa Franco creates artworks which reflect ‘affective’ relationships, encouraging new experiences between people. She has exhibited at contemporary arts events and light festivals across the world from Brazil to China, France to Norway, the USA to China and now at Vivid Sydney.
