Program Manager and Sustainable Swag Enthusiast, Atlassian

As program manager and Foundation Council member at tech giant Atlassian, mum of two, Kayla optimises the company value “be the change you seek.”

Working closely with sustainable and ethical suppliers in Cambodia, Kayla developed her female-centric At-lass swag clothing line (as seen in Business Insider). This project was non-technical winner at Atlassian’s innovation ShipIt event last year. At-lass swag pushed the envelope on what is possible with sustainable and ethical sourcing and reinvented the power tie to provide an identity for women in technology. Not bad for a line of dresses.

At-lass swag is influencing how people looking at sustainable products, in 15 cities and 6 countries around the globe. Last year At-lass swag made its debut to Atlassian customers at their summit in the US and will be making an appearance at Atlassian’s European summit in September.

Most recently Kayla’s passion in this field has spearheaded the importance of embracing sustainable and ethical sourcing, in all areas within the tech industry. Atlassian’s annual design week event last month was the most sustainable it has ever been with Kayla’s influence and excitement. What drives Kayla is her passion to impact change, to push the boundaries and influence a shift in mindset for what it means to be sustainable in a disposable world.

Two Good Founder

Rob started his career as a marine engineering officer in the Royal Australian Navy. After six years and including active service in the Persian Gulf he retired from the navy and commenced working as a mechanical engineer in the construction industry.

His grandmother introduced him to soup kitchens when he was 12 and throughout his career he has always spent significant time volunteering. In 2010, he founded an organic soup kitchen in Sydney's Kings Cross and in 2016 he founded social enterprise Two Good Co initially as a way to scale the soup kitchen. Last year he quit engineering to focus on Two Good Co and a mission to support every women’s domestic violence service in the country.

He likes to talk about:

POSITIVE HUMAN CONNECTION
The power and value of understanding someone without judgement. True human connection in a world of ‘connectivity’.  Commensality — the act of sharing a meal together.

SOCIAL ENTERPRISE
The collective impact we can make when social enterprises work with large corporations. The challenges of competing with standard businesses and the passion and drive that comes from the social impact you are achieving.
