Entrpreneur, founder of Coviu

Silvia Pfeiffer is a repeat entrepreneur, previously having founded a Web video analytics company and now Coviu, a telehealth turnkey solution for private practice. Coviu is a spinout from CSIRO’s Data61 and is an innovator in telehealth. It does so by providing medical tools in a video visit that give clinicians superpowers. Silvia has more than 15 years of experience with Web video businesses having worked in technology innovation for Google, Mozilla, NICTA, and CSIRO. She co-edited the standards that made video a prime citizen of the Web and underpin not just the likes of Netflix and YouTube, but also her startup Coviu. Silvia has a PhD in computer science, a masters in business management, has published two books on HTML5 video and most recently one for healthcare businesses to help them set up video consultations sustainably.

Dr Dana Kai Bradford

Dr Dana Kai Bradford

Senior Research Scientist at CSIRO

Dr Dana Kai Bradford is a senior research scientist at CSIRO’s Australian e-Health Research Centre and an adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the Queensland Brain Institute. Her project work predominantly centres on digital services for equitable healthcare. She is involved in the development of phone based programs to manage chronic illness and mental health, and tablet based apps to translate key assessment questions for non-English speaking hospital patients. She was involved in the first Australian pilot of the Smarter Safer Homes platform – a sensor based monitoring system designed to allow the elderly to live independently for longer. Dana is also involved in projects to facilitate the integration of genomic medicine into every day care and the development of chat bot technology to facilitate participation in tertiary education by young adults with Autism.

Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO

Dr Denis Bauer is CSIRO’s Principal Research Scientist in transformational bioinformatics and an internationally recognised expert in machine learning and cloud-based genomics, having presented at AWS Summit, Canberra, 2018 and Open Data Science Conference, India, 2018. Her achievements include developing open-source machine-learning cloud services that accelerate disease research, used by 10,000 researchers annually
