We live in the age of distraction. What impact does this have on our minds and our creativity? How is our lifestyle changing the way we think, dream, and shaping our narrative about ourselves, our culture and our future?

Creativity is the engine of your mind, the author of your story and responsible for who you call ‘you’. You may not nurture it, you may not notice it, but creativity is the driving force of your life, so it pays to consider what kind of fuel you are putting in your tank.

Meet creative catalyst and author of three books Paulina Larocca, MSc in Creativity, along with an expert panel in this experiential and interactive session that explores our creative mind. Discover how neural pathways weave the mind’s stories and, importantly, what you can do to create new, more empowering narratives for yourself.

Paulina is joined by:

• Joshua Tyler, an award-winning screenwriter and author. Joshua’s film Top End Wedding was the second highest-grossing Australian film of 2019.

• Sundresan "Sunny" Naicker, PhD academic and activist. Sunny has collaborated with global leaders in diverse fields of neuroscience, ethical decision-making and human rights.

• Cheryle Yin Lo, Doctorate, Cultural Research and Director of Creative Traveller Enterprises. Cheryle works with artists and diverse communities to shape their voice and share their stories.

• Natalina Zlatevska, PhD and Associate Professor of Marketing, UTS, is in marketing at Sydney University. Natalina’s research in marketing influences on happiness, wellbeing, and cognition can be seen in the pages of top-tier journals and awarded numerous research awards.

This is an opportunity to apply the latest thinking in neuroscience and metacognition to achieve quantum breakthroughs in your personal life and professional career.

  • Hearing loop - A hearing loop (sometimes called an audio induction loop) is a special type of sound system for use by people with hearing aids. The hearing loop provides a magnetic, wireless signal that is picked up by the hearing aid when it is set to 'T' (Telecoil) setting. Many venues have an induction hearing loop system. Check if your venue has this system.
  • Wheelchair accessible - Access to the venue is suitable for wheelchairs (toilets, ramps/lifts etc.) and designated wheelchair spaces are available.
